So, we’re into the second month of 2016! I have some amazing favourites to share with you all that I think you’ll love (or not, depending on your music and anime tastes…)
I’ve had my eye on this camera for a very long time as a potential new vlogging camera. It has everything I need; wifi capability, a flip screen, brilliant quality, auto focus and the ability to capture beautiful photos and videos. My instagram game is getting stronger each day thanks to this camera and my vlogs look so much more pretty. Despite the trouble I hd getting this camera in the first place (see this video for more info) and the very hefty price tag, it was definitely worth it and has probably become my best purchase of this year. If you’re looking for a camera that certainly packs a punch, go with the Powershot.
It’s pretty much a given that I’m obsessed with Yankee Candles. I’ve been a loyal fan and been purchasing their candles for quite a while, and this venture into Vanilla Cupcake has now become one of my favourite scents. I love things that smell of vanilla and this candle is like walking into my nanny’s kitchen when she’s been baking cakes, it’s glorious. What I love about this particular scent is that it doesn’t smell too sickly or overpowering; it’s just the right amount of vanilla and sweetness combined to make this a heavenly smell for my room. I did a blog post about this candle back in January, which you can read here.
As I am a funny coloured hair veteran, I know a lot of products to go to to keep hair colour in tip top condition. Dry shampoo was my best friend when I coloured my hair and still is now. batiste do the best dry shampoos around, making a wide variety of different scents and a perfect solution to a no wash day. My hair gets greasy very quickly after I wash it, so this is absolutely essential for me. A few pumps of this and my hair looks fresh and smells great. I went for this tropical scent this time around, which leaves me feeling like a coconut goddess.
Primark Black Winter Boots
A favourite of mine a while ago was a pair of brown winter boots I bought from Primark. So you can imagine as soon as I found the same pair in black, they had to be mine. The brown boots hardly ever leave my feet and these will become a staple in my winter wear. I love a good pair of boots but I’ve been struggling to find the perfect pair. These seal the deal for me; fluffy on the inside, wide fit, lovely design, and for only £15! Now that I can alternate between a brown and black pair, my feet will never go cold again.
Massive Attack in Birmingham
I crossed off a bucket list wish in January and that was to see me favourite band of all time, Massive Attack. Their style has been known in the trip-hop genre and a lot of their music is used in film & TV. I’ve been listening to their music since I was young and I have always wanted to go and see them live. Their show is incredibly mesmerising and a bit light heavy, but is so pretty to look at. They played all of my favourite songs as well as new tracks from their EP, which is also an incredible album in itself. I hope that somewhere in the future, I can go and see them play again.
Yu Yu Hakusho
My inner amine junkie is coming back and recently, I’ve been binge watching one of the shows I loved, Yu Yu Hakusho. It follows Yusuke Urameshi as he dies and becomes a spirit detective for the underworld, fighting demons and others alike. This show is incredible and certainly holds up to its time. There’s a rich diversity of characters who bounce off each other very well and the soundtrack is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever heard. If you’re into your animes and you like people fighting demons, I highly recommend this gem.
