I’m really struggling with picking at the moment. My thumbs have taken a battering and I’ve distorted the growth on my left thumb again. It’s not the first time I’ve distorted nail growth and it frustrates me that I’ve done it. I’ve been really struggling to do simple things, even trying to open a packet of crisps leaves me in so much pain. Surely my picking should be non existent since I’ve been writing this series for over a year, but I guess this habit has been incredibly hard to break.
My fingers have been really good, I’ve taken good care of them. However, I was trimming the nail on my right finger, trimmed too much, caught some skin and it turned into what you see above. Now I have a had finger to contend with as well as my sore thumbs. I’ve kept plasters in work which have been on all of the areas affected, but it’s still not enough. I need to paint my nails as soon as possible so I cam minimise the damage I’ve done.
As for my chin, I’ve found a little product that has been working really well to combat my acne. A couple of years ago, my doctor gave me Fucidin cream, which helps reduce inflamed and sore skin. The initial use was for my fingers when I got into a picking frenzy and the amount of tubes I have lying around in my room is crazy. When I had my little battle with Impetigo earlier in the year, my doctor suggested that I try using Fucidin cream on my acne, as she said it would help to reduce it in the future. I didn’t really listen, but when I got a bad spot on my lip, I decided to give it a go along with some other spots I had lurking. The results were absolutely insane after one use and my spots had pretty much reduced instantly. Now, I use it every night before I go to bed over my whole face and it’s saved me lots of pain and trouble the morning after. I hope that if I use this often, it may help to reduce my scarring as well, but I will keep you all informed. Now my cream has two uses and doesn’t need to be kept in the fridge. Woohoo!
That’s all for this update. Photos are below!
