Sleepy Body Lotion – the lotion that everyone’s been going crazy for. So much so that there was a world wide lavender shortage for some time. After going through a bad time with being anemic, I got my hands on the body lotion that is probably going to save the world. Or at least save everyone’s sleeping problems.
You’ll sleep well after dipping into this dreamy lotion, made with a gentle oatmeal infusion, calming lavender flower and comfortingly sweet tonka absolute. A rich, malty and floral perfume conjures up visions of sugar plums and hot drinks topped with whipped cream while the heavenly ministrations of creamy Fair Trade organic cocoa butter and delicate lavender water cool and enrich the skin. Blanket your body in this lovely lotion before stepping into soft pyjamas for snuggly nights beside the fire.
That description on the Lush website alone should be enough to draw you in. I’ve not used any of Lush’s lotions before, usually opting for the body butters from The Body Shop (here’s the one I have at the moment!)*. But there was just so much hype around this product that I knew I just had to try it out for myself.
I bought a large pot of the lotion which retails at £13.95. Quite an expensive little tub but if you use a small amount every day, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth out of it. I love using this right before I go to bed where I place a small amount on my chest, neck and shoulders. The smell of this instantly hits you in the face and that may be a bad thing for some people. The lavender smell is really strong which I like as it calms me down instantly. Morgan isn’t such a big fan however, but I’m sure he feels the benefits of it when he gets a whiff.
Lavender is known for being a great flower to help with being calm – having anxiety disorder I’ve relied on lavender oils in the past to help curb it, although now I don’t need to so much. This lotion really calms me down before I go to bed and I love the feeling of drifting off when I’ve put this on. Although I still suffer with bad exhaustion from being anemic (I wonder if Lush could make a lotion for that?), I definitely find that I sleep much easier when I use Sleepy.
As well as the big pot for £13.95, there is also a smaller pot you can grab for only £7.95, or if you’re really unsure, you can always ask for a sample in your local Lush store. If you’re struggling with your sleeping, I’d highly recommend giving this a try.
