The Body Shop ® Matte Clay Clarifying Foundation Review

After being a lover of BB Cream for healthy coverage for so long, The Body Shop ® * have done it again and brought out the Matte Clay Clarifying Foundation*. I was so eager to try it out and I managed to purchase it to give a go last year. I’ve been using it for long enough now that I thought I’d share my review of the product.

So I’ve got crappy skin. Acne flareups happen quite often and there are times where wearing makeup to cover them up is the only option when I go out somedays. While I have my main foundation as the No7 Beautifully Matte* (which I’ve also done a review on) and I love it, I always wanted something that would be a bit less harsh on pesky spots.

This is where the Tea Tree BB Cream* from The Body Shop ® came in and it was a holy grail; it gave me brilliant coverage and helped to reduce my acne at the same time. I’ve been a solid fan of it for years and was dead set on using it for the rest of my life, until The Body Shop ® brought out a foundation that seemed to combine both of my concerns into one product.

The Body Shop Skin Clarifying Matte Clay Foundation

In comes the Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation.

I knew I needed to give this product a go; a full coverage, matte finish foundation that’s lightweight, breathable AND is enriched with tea tree oil to combat acne? I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more perfect foundation for someone like me. And when I bought some to try out, it definitely did not disappoint.

The Body Shop Foundation After

The shade I bought was 014 Railay Beach and despite my initial worries about picking the wrong shade, this is perfect for me. It’s the most blendable foundation I’ve ever used and to quote good old Ned Flanders, it feels like I’m wearing nothing at all. I find with some foundations that I can always feel it on me, but this one is so lightweight it gives a brilliant flawless finish. It’s also covered up some really pesky spots with ease too, which is amazing and very confidence boosting for me.

For a 100ml bottle, you only pay £10 and this is definitely one of the more budget friendly foundations. Don’t let its size fool you though; a little bit of this goes a ridiculously long way.

The Body Shop Clay Matte Foundation

For someone who was desperately looking for a BB Cream and Foundation combined into one, this foundation is the answer; it helps to fight and reduce acne with enriched tea tree and gives brilliant coverage with just a little bit of product. Although I still love the Tea Tree BB Cream and will still have it as a staple in my makeup routine, this foundation is probably going to be the one I go back to time and time again.
